Last week I was invited to see a professional baseball game by a group of friends that lived in Washington state. They lived near the city of Seattle and the team we were going to see play were the Seattle Mariners.
I’ve loved the sport of baseball since I was a kid and I was amped to see a ballgame in some place other than the ballpark in the place that I live. I was curious as to how the great folks of Seattle supported their home team.
The Mariners were slated to play a day game today and this fact was probably the reason I saw so many kids walking up to the stadium with their dads. This sight was a reminder on how me and my dad used to go see ballgames back in Atlanta when I was a kid.
I saw something as I approached the gate of the stadium that really caught my eye. I saw stadium employees giving some type of toy to every person that entered the turnstiles.
As we got closer it finally came to be our turn to get whatever they were passing out and as I was handed one I saw that it was a bobble-head doll. I was told that this particular bobble-head was a rendition of the very popular Mariners centerfielder Ichiro.
Here I was just coming to see a ballgame that my friends had invited me to and I get a free gift just for showing up. I really enjoyed that unexpected surprise and it reminded me of how some residual income business owners use free gifts to reward visitors to their business.
The marketing strategy of giving away free gifts has been used for years to thank people for making a purchase, leaving contact info, or even for just showing up.
There was a great lesson to be learned from what the Seattle Mariners did that day at the ballpark. Giving away free gifts to your customers is a great way to endear them to you and your product or service. Residual income business owners can use these types of techniques to grow their business fast and often.
