Setting The Right Mood Through Home Decors

Setting an ambiance for a room depends on how you put the decorating elements together. A single item, color or arrangement of furnishings can create a certain mood.

It’s a reflex action to roam our eyes around a room we have just seen. We take in the sights, savor the sensory overload and feel the ambiance. A room that makes us feel comfortable is a room bursting with positive energy. On the contrary, a room that feels heavy and restricting is a room with bad spiritsseriously though, a space that needs a major redecoration.

Meanwhile, a formal mood can be done by using furniture with modern, minimalist or contemporary designs. Whichever one you choose, just be sure to be consistent and to stick to using just that aesthetic for the entire space.

A staple item not to miss are area rugs. It can blend well with any mood, set the ambiance and emphasize the feel of the space. An area rug is the tie that binds all the other elements in the room. Hence, there’s balance and coordination.

Make the mood match the function of the room. With this, you can maintain the theme even if once in a while you might decide to shift the setting from one to the other. Aim for a well-coordinated interior.
